Public Hearings in DC on New Cement Regs (June 18th) |

On June 18, 2009 EPA will hold a public hearing in Washington, DC to allow comments on the proposed new standards for emissions from cement kilns. Emission standards apply to mercury, hydrochloric acid, total hydrocarbons, particulate matter and sulfur dioxide. The hearing is open to all and citizens are encouraged to attend and speak out about their support for these strict new standards. Anybody who would like to attend the DC hearings, please see attached information from EarthJustice, including talking points and specific information about the new regulations. Volunteers from the StopTitan movement will be attending the DC hearings.
If you would like to attend and need additional information, please call/email via the contact information on the stoptitan.org website. Of if you can not attend, but would like your comments submitted at the hearing, please email them before Monday, June 15th, and we'll deliver them at the hearing. Members of EarthJustice may also read some of these essays during the hearing, if there's time.
